We’ve been making Dry Gewürztraminer for 26 years, but this is the first time we’ve vineyard designated one. We do have a 2008 bottling of our flagship “Central Coast” Gewurz, but we also produced a limited bottling with a Monterey County appellation and a special nod to our outstanding grape source, Ventana Vineyard. That is this wine.

Claiborne & Churchill’s Ventana Vineyard Gewürztraminer is remarkably dry, floral, and tart. The honeysuckle and spicy aromas suggest serving this as an aperitif wine, but the dry and tangy flavors cry out for food. And let’s not forget: Gewürztraminer is famous as the perfect Holiday Dinner wine, because it handles all of the diverse sweet and savory dishes so effortlessly.
