2016 Syrah, Spanish Springs Vineyard

We have a brand new release for you all! As you may know, we’re big fans of cool climate Rhone varietals. A few years ago we began making Grenache from one of the coolest vineyard sites in our area, Spanish Springs Vineyard. And now, we’re presenting you with our Spanish Springs Vineyard Syrah. Located only 1.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard rarely reaches 80 degrees, and cools off quickly in the evening. The Syrah grapes at Spanish Springs can achieve a long hang time without over-ripening. This allows the wine to develop a rich, savory mouthfeel, well integrated tannins, and bracing acidity. Notes of wild game, dark woodland berries, olives, and tamarind are found in the aroma and flavor. This is a fantastic wine to enjoy with braised lamb shank, grilled eggplant or barbecued spare ribs.
